Scan before you click.
A mobile fraud detection app. Paste a suspicious link, scan a QR code, or share a screenshot — get an instant, plain-English verdict on whether it's a scam. Free to try, no account required.
We are a consumer software and scam intelligence company. We build KechX Safe Browsing — an app that helps everyday consumers spot scam links, QR codes, and phishing texts before they click. The intelligence we gather protects our users first, and powers the fight against fraud everywhere it appears.
KechX Safe Browsing puts a scam check in the hand of the person about to click. The KechX Intelligence System puts what we learn from those checks in front of the banks, agencies, and Attorneys General offices fighting the same scams at scale.

Scam intelligence, at institutional scale.
An AI-powered dashboard and data platform for banks, companies, government agencies, and state Attorneys General offices — verified scam activity, brand impersonation alerts, and threat maps scoped to your organization.
The app is what most people see. But behind it, KechX Technologies runs data analytics and intelligence analysis on the scams targeting real people every day. Every scan, every report, every flagged link feeds a growing intelligence layer that gets sharper the more it’s used. That intelligence protects our consumers first — but it’s also built to serve the people fighting scams at a bigger scale: financial institutions trying to stop wire fraud before it happens, community organizations protecting vulnerable members, and government agencies working to shut scam operations down. We’re not a surveillance company and we’re not a data broker. We turn what our users report into protection — for themselves, and for anyone else in the line of fire.
Every design decision starts with the person using the app — not the metric we could optimize, not the growth loop we could construct. If a feature doesn't make their day materially better, it doesn't ship.
KechX doesn't fabricate scam statistics. Every number in our products is sourced, measured, or clearly labeled as an estimate. If we don't know the answer, we say so.
Free tiers actually work. Paid tiers actually deliver more. No dark patterns, no fake urgency, no auto-renewals that hide their claws. Cancellation is one tap, refunds through the platforms are honored.
Everything we release is something we'd put on our own parents' phones, or recommend to a friend running their own business. If the product isn't good enough for the people we love, it isn't good enough to ship.
KechX Technologies is a consumer software and intelligence company building apps against scams and unfair business dealings. One product so far. One mission — help people see what they're really dealing with.
Every year, more people I know get taken by scams. Parents clicking phishing links. Friends handing over gift card codes to fake IRS agents. Grandparents wiring money to people pretending to be their kids.
The problem comes from one place: information asymmetry. The scammer knows exactly what they're doing. The victim doesn't. Every product KechX Technologies builds asks the same question — how do we close that gap?
KechX Safe Browsing closes the gap by telling you what a suspicious link actually is before you click it. Paste a URL, scan a QR code, or share a screenshot — get an instant, plain-English verdict on whether it's a scam.
We're a growing company headquartered in Miami, Florida, with an additional office in Norfolk, Virginia. Growth for its own sake isn't the goal — the work being right is the goal.
That means we ship slowly by industry standards. We test everything on people we love before we ship it to strangers. We don't build features because a competitor has them. We don't inflate metrics we can't stand behind. When we don't know something, we say so. When we make a mistake, we fix it publicly.
There's a version of software companies that treats users as sources of engagement and monetization. That's not the version we're building.
Christopher Bradley founded KechX Technologies around a commitment to build practical software that protects consumers.
As the Founder and CEO of Pellenzo Technologies Inc, a data analytics and software development company, Christopher Bradley took those same principles — rigorous data work, software built to be right — and applied them to protecting consumers against scams and fraud. That's how KechX Technologies was built.
The standard is simple: we build things we'd use ourselves, put on our own parents' phones, and recommend to our closest friends. If a product doesn't clear that bar, it doesn't ship. Period.
Everything we build has to answer to these. If a decision doesn't line up with all three, we don't make it.
Every decision starts with the person using the app — not the metric we could optimize, not the growth loop we could construct. If a feature doesn't make their day materially better, it doesn't ship.
KechX doesn't fabricate scam statistics. Every number in our products is sourced, measured, or clearly labeled as an estimate. If we don't know, we say so.
Free tiers actually work. Paid tiers actually deliver more. No dark patterns, no fake urgency, no auto-renewals that hide their claws. Cancellation is one tap. If the product isn't worth what we charge, we don't charge.
A mobile fraud detection app that tells you if a link, QR code, or message is a scam — before you tap it. Paste a URL, scan a QR, or share a suspicious screenshot, and get an instant, plain-English verdict.
KechX Safe Browsing is a mobile fraud detection app for iPhone and Android. Paste any suspicious URL and get an instant verdict. Scan a QR code on a parking meter, a package, a business card — KechX tells you if it's safe. Share a screenshot of a suspicious text or DM, and KechX explains what's off about it in plain English.
Behind the scenes, KechX combines domain reputation databases, SSL certificate checks, threat intelligence feeds, and AI-powered content analysis to score every scan. But you don't need to know any of that. You just need to know: safe, suspicious, or scam.
Free forever for the first five scans a month, with an unlimited upgrade for anyone who wants to check more, and a Family plan that protects up to five people on one subscription.
Scammers use links, QR codes, texts, DMs, and even screenshots. KechX handles all of them.
Paste any link. Get a safe / suspicious / scam verdict in under two seconds, with the reasons behind it.
Point your camera at any QR code before you tap it. KechX resolves the destination and scans it for scams.
Screenshot a suspicious text, DM, or email, share it to KechX, and get a breakdown of every red flag.
Every verdict comes with a plain-English explanation of why. No black-box AI, no guessing.
Add up to 5 family members. When a parent, teen, or elder scans something dangerous, everyone gets a heads-up.
Every scan you run is saved and searchable across your devices. Look up something you scanned last week in seconds.
KechX Safe Browsing is coming soon to iOS and Android.
KIS is our AI-powered institutional platform — a dedicated dashboard and data platform that companies, banks, government agencies, and state Attorneys General offices use to fight scams, phishing, and fraud at scale.
Most-reported patterns
Illustrative view. Sample figures, not live data.
The KechX Intelligence System is a dedicated dashboard and data platform for organizations that carry responsibility for other people — the fraud team at a credit union, the consumer protection division at a state Attorney General's office, the security team defending a company's employees and customers.
KIS delivers real-time intelligence on verified scams targeting your customers, brand impersonation alerts, geographic threat maps, emerging pattern detection powered by AI, and downloadable intelligence reports — all scoped to your organization.
The intelligence comes from what KechX Safe Browsing users report and scan every day: links, QR codes, texts, and screenshots that real people flagged before they got caught. KIS turns that stream into something an institution can act on.
Everything in KIS is scoped to your organization — your customers, your brand, your jurisdiction. Nothing generic, nothing borrowed from someone else's threat feed.
Every scam confirmed against your customers, employees, or residents lands in your console as it is verified — the destination, the delivery channel, and what it was pretending to be.
Get told when a lookalike domain, cloned login page, or fake support number starts using your name against the people who trust it.
See where activity is concentrating, county by county and state by state, so outreach and warnings go where the pressure actually is.
AI groups the reports nobody has connected yet and surfaces the campaign while it is still forming, not after the losses are counted.
Export the evidence in a form you can hand to an examiner, a board, a press office, or a case file — without rebuilding it by hand.
KIS is built for the people who answer for someone else's money, data, or safety.
Access is granted per organization, with the data scoped to the population you are responsible for. If your work looks like one of these, KIS was designed with it in mind.
Protecting customers from wire fraud and impersonation scams — and seeing the lure before the transfer request arrives.
Tracking consumer fraud across the state, with the geography and pattern detail that consumer protection work runs on.
Defending employees and customers from targeted attacks, including campaigns built specifically around your brand.
Focused on consumer protection, elder abuse, and public awareness — with evidence you can publish or act on.
Serving vulnerable populations, where a single warning delivered in time is the whole intervention.
Consumers scan and report suspicious links, QR codes, texts, and screenshots in KechX Safe Browsing. Every scan is a data point about a scam in motion.
Reports are verified, clustered, and matched against your brand, your customer base, and your jurisdiction — so a scattered set of complaints becomes a named campaign.
You get alerts, maps, and reports scoped to your organization, ready to route into fraud operations, an investigation, or a public warning.
KIS turns scam intelligence into institutional defense. Tell us who you protect and we will walk you through the console with your own threat picture.
Institutional access only. We are not a data broker and we do not sell user data.
We're building an app that helps people avoid getting taken advantage of by scammers. If that's the kind of problem you want to spend your days on, we'd like to meet you.
We're small enough that nobody is the third person on a feature. You'll own something end to end, make the calls that come with it, and see it in the hands of actual users.
No sprint theater, no shipping to hit a number. We test on people we love before we ship to strangers, and we'd rather hold a release than push something we can't stand behind.
You won't have to squint to find the point. Every role here connects to someone not losing their savings to a fake link, or getting paid what their work is actually worth.
Every role below is a real opening we're actively interviewing for. If you're close but not an exact match, apply anyway and tell us why.
Own the Swift codebase behind the app — scan flows, on-device checks, and the parts of the experience that have to feel instant. You'll be the person who decides how iOS works here.
Same job, Kotlin side. Build the Android version of KechX Safe Browsing, including QR scanning, share-sheet handoff, and the background work that keeps scan history in sync.
Build the APIs the app runs on: the scan pipeline, the verdict service, and the data model underneath. Comfortable owning Postgres and the parts that can't go down.
Improve how we classify malicious links, phishing screenshots, and QR payloads — and how we explain a verdict in plain English. Precision matters more than novelty; a false clear is the worst thing we can ship.
Design for people who are anxious, rushed, or not especially technical. You'll shape how a scam verdict is delivered — a flow where clarity is the whole product.
Review reported scams, spot the patterns early, and turn what you find into detection rules and policy. You'll be the closest person to what's actually happening to users.
Answer people who've just been scammed, or who are waiting on a payout. Patience and plain language required. Support here isn't a deflection queue — what you hear goes straight to the people building the fix.
Get two pre-launch apps in front of the people who need them, without overstating what they do. App store presence, launch campaigns, and honest numbers we can stand behind.
Build the relationships that get KechX Safe Browsing in front of people before they click — credit unions, senior services, small business groups. First partnerships hire, reporting to the founder.
We're a small company and the org chart is still being written. If you're good at something we clearly need, send us a note about what you'd want to own.
Send a general applicationKechX Technologies is a consumer software and intelligence company that closes information gaps. This page explains the company in plain language — what our products do, what happens to your data when you use them, what our software will never do, and where the limits are.
Almost every product KechX Technologies builds starts from the same observation: in a lot of everyday transactions, one side knows far more than the other. A scammer knows exactly what their link does. The person clicking it does not.
We call that information asymmetry, and it is the thing our software attacks. We are not trying to police the internet or replace anyone's judgement. We are trying to put the missing half of the picture in front of the person who needs it, early enough to matter.
KechX Safe Browsing answers one question: is this safe to interact with? You give it something suspicious — a link, a QR code, a screenshot of a text message — and it gives you back a verdict in plain English, along with the reasoning behind that verdict.
Guardian Mode extends the same checks to a family member's device, so a person who wants help can have a relative see the same verdicts they do. Guardian Mode is opt-in on both sides and can be switched off by either person at any time.
The short version: we collect what a feature needs to work, we keep it for as long as that purpose requires, and we do not sell it. The long version, including the specific categories and retention periods, is in our Privacy Statement.
When you scan an item in KechX Safe Browsing, the item itself — the URL, the QR payload, the screenshot — has to leave your device to be analysed. We keep it only as long as needed to return a verdict and to improve detection, and screenshots are processed for fraud signals rather than retained as a browsing record. If you would rather nothing be kept for improvement purposes, you can turn that off in the app's privacy settings.
These are commitments, not aspirations. If we ever change one of them, we will say so on this page and date the change rather than quietly editing the list.
No fraud detection product catches everything, and any company telling you otherwise is selling you something. KechX Safe Browsing will sometimes flag a legitimate site because it looks structurally like a scam, and it will sometimes miss a novel scam that has not yet produced any of the signals we look for.
Treat a verdict as strong evidence, not as permission. A “likely safe” result on a page asking for your bank credentials is still a page asking for your bank credentials.
KechX Safe Browsing has a free tier and a paid subscription that adds higher scan volumes, Guardian Mode for additional people, and deeper analysis. That is the whole model — subscriptions.
We mention this because it explains our incentives. We are paid when the product is useful enough to keep, not when you spend longer inside it or see more advertising.
If we get a verdict wrong, tell us — every result in the app has a dispute option, and disputes are reviewed by people, not only by the system that produced the original answer. If we get something wrong at the company level, such as a security incident affecting your data, we will notify affected users directly and describe what happened rather than burying it in a policy update.
Write to hello@kechx.com for general questions, or privacy@kechx.com for anything about your data.

This statement explains what personal information KechX Technologies LLC collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers our websites and KechX Safe Browsing.
This statement applies to personal information handled by KechX Technologies LLC (“KechX Technologies”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in the United States with its headquarters in Miami, Florida, and an additional office in Norfolk, Virginia.
It applies when you:
It does not apply to third-party sites or services you reach through our products. Those have their own privacy practices.
We collect the categories below. Not every category applies to every person — what we hold depends on which products you use and which features you turn on.
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account data | Name, email address, password credentials, subscription tier | You |
| Submitted items | URLs, QR code payloads, screenshots and messages you send for analysis | You |
| Verdict history | Results we returned, disputes you raised | Generated by us |
| Payment data | Subscription and billing records, purchase status | You and our payment processors |
| Device and usage data | Device model, operating system, app version, crash logs, feature usage, IP address | Collected automatically |
| Support data | Messages you send us and our replies | You |
We do not ask for, and do not want, more sensitive information than a feature needs. We do not collect precise location data, and we do not read your messages, browsing history, or files outside the specific items you choose to submit for analysis.
We use personal information for these purposes only:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not make decisions with significant legal effects about you using automated processing alone — verdict disputes are reviewed by people.
The items you submit to KechX Safe Browsing deserve their own section, because they are the most sensitive thing we handle.
A submitted item leaves your device so it can be analysed. It is checked against threat intelligence sources, inspected for fraud patterns, and summarised. The verdict comes back to your device and is stored in your history so you can find it again.
Screenshots are processed to extract the fraud-relevant content — sender details, links, payment requests, urgency language. We do not build a record of your general phone activity from them. Where a screenshot contains unrelated personal information, that information is not used for any purpose other than producing the verdict.
By default, submitted items may be retained to improve detection. You can switch this off in the app under Settings → Privacy → Improve detection. With it off, items are used to return your verdict and then deleted on the schedule below. Turning it off does not reduce the quality of the verdict you receive.
We share personal information only in these situations:
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account data | While your account is open, then up to 90 days after deletion |
| Submitted items (improvement off) | Up to 30 days, then deleted |
| Submitted items (improvement on) | Up to 24 months, then deleted or de-identified |
| Verdict history | While your account is open, or until you clear it |
| Subscription and payment records | 7 years, to meet financial record-keeping obligations |
| Device and usage logs | 13 months |
| Support correspondence | 24 months after the case closes |
Where we are required to keep something longer for legal reasons, we keep only what the obligation requires.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to do the following, and we will honour the request unless a law requires us to keep the information:
Email privacy@kechx.com or use Settings → Privacy in either app. We respond within 30 days, and we will not treat you differently for exercising a right. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority or, in the United States, to your state Attorney General.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the rights above, including the right to opt out of sale and of targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information and do not conduct targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the request channel is open regardless, and authorised agents may submit on your behalf.
We encrypt personal information in transit and at rest, limit internal access to staff who need it for their role, log administrative access, require multi-factor authentication on internal systems, and review our controls regularly. No system is perfect; if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant regulators as required by law, and we will describe what happened plainly.
Our products are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Where a parent or guardian enables Guardian Mode for a minor aged 13 to 17, that is done from the guardian's account and with the minor's knowledge. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact privacy@kechx.com and we will delete it.
We are based in the United States and process personal information there. If you use our products from outside the US, your information is transferred to the US and to the countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional technical measures.
When we change this statement we update the “last updated” date above. For changes that materially affect how we use your information, we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect, and we will not apply a materially different use to information we already hold without a fresh legal basis.

We build software that inspects things people send us, and we build a feature that lets one family member see another's fraud verdicts. Both are useful. Both could be misused. This page sets out how we keep them from becoming surveillance tools.
A fraud detection product is, mechanically, an inspection product. People hand us links, messages and screenshots and ask us what they are. That is a position of real trust, and it is also a capability that could be pointed in the wrong direction — at monitoring a partner, profiling a community, or building a picture of someone's private life.
We would rather state our limits in public, before anyone asks us to cross them, than decide case by case under pressure.
Civil liberties protections that live only in a policy document tend to erode. We try to put them in the product instead.
Guardian Mode exists because the people most often targeted by scams are frequently the least comfortable evaluating a link alone. It is also the feature with the clearest potential for abuse, so it carries specific rules.
We will not ship a “silent” or “stealth” variant of Guardian Mode, and we will not accept a partnership or enterprise arrangement that requires one. A monitoring feature the monitored person cannot see is not a safety feature.
We receive law enforcement and other legal requests like any company operating in the United States. Our process:
Emergency disclosures, where there is a genuine risk of death or serious physical harm, are the one exception to advance notice. They are documented, reviewed after the fact, and counted in the transparency report.
These are lines we do not intend to cross, whatever the commercial or legal pressure. If a court ever compels us past one of them, we will say so to the extent the law allows.
Automated fraud detection can fail unevenly. A model trained mostly on English-language scams targeting one demographic will be worse for everyone else, and being worse here means either missing real fraud or falsely accusing legitimate businesses.
We test detection accuracy across languages and regions rather than reporting a single global number, keep a human dispute path for every verdict, review disputes for patterns that suggest systematic bias, and treat a persistent gap in accuracy between groups as a defect to be fixed rather than a cost of doing business.
A named senior employee is accountable for privacy and civil liberties at KechX Technologies and reports directly to the founder. That role reviews new features before launch, signs off on responses to legal requests, and owns the annual transparency report. Because we are a small company, we say plainly what we have rather than describing a structure we do not yet operate: this is one accountable person with a documented review process, not a standing external board. If we establish an external advisory council, we will name its members here.
If you think one of our products is being used to monitor or harm someone, or that we have fallen short of what is written here, tell us. Reports from users, researchers and employees are treated as serious, and we do not retaliate against anyone inside the company for raising one.

These terms are the agreement between you and KechX Technologies LLC covering our websites and KechX Safe Browsing. They explain what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how disputes get resolved.
By using our websites or apps (the “Services”) you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
Our Privacy Statement and Cookie Policy are part of this agreement.
If you use KechX Safe Browsing, our Terms of Service are also part of this agreement. They cover the mechanics of the service — plans, allowances, availability, support and billing. Where the two documents differ, these Terms of Use govern.
You must be at least 13 to use KechX Safe Browsing. Users aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian's permission.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly at security@kechx.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You may not share an account, or transfer it, without our written consent.
KechX Safe Browsing analyses items you submit — links, QR codes, screenshots and messages — and returns an assessment of whether the item appears fraudulent, with an explanation.
We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue a paid feature you rely on, we will give reasonable notice and make it right on the terms set out in our Terms of Service.
Fraud detection is probabilistic. KechX Safe Browsing will sometimes flag legitimate content and will sometimes fail to identify a genuine scam, particularly a new one. A verdict is information to help your judgement, not a guarantee, and not a substitute for care with your money, credentials or personal information.
Nothing in the Services is legal, tax, financial or insurance advice.
You agree not to:
Good-faith security research is welcome. If you find a vulnerability, report it to security@kechx.com before disclosing it, and we will not pursue action against research conducted within those bounds.
You keep ownership of everything you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process and analyse your submissions for the purpose of operating the Services, including — unless you turn improvement use off — improving our detection systems. That licence ends when the content is deleted under the retention schedule in our Privacy Statement.
You confirm you have the right to submit what you submit, and that doing so does not breach anyone else's rights.
The fuller billing, renewal, cancellation and refund mechanics are set out in our Terms of Service.
The Services, including our software, models, designs, and the KechX names and logos, belong to KechX Technologies LLC or our licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Services for their intended purpose. Nothing else is granted.
The Services rely on third parties for hosting, payments and threat intelligence, and may link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices, and your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider's terms.
Except as expressly stated in these terms, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that they will identify every threat.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KechX Technologies LLC and its officers, employees and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Services.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted.
You agree to indemnify KechX Technologies LLC against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, or your submission of content you had no right to submit.
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, if your use creates legal risk or harms other users, or if we are required to by law. Where circumstances allow, we give notice and an opportunity to fix the problem first. On termination, provisions that by their nature should survive — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and dispute resolution — continue to apply.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you live outside the United States, mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply to you.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact legal@kechx.com so we can try to resolve the matter directly — most issues are settled this way within 30 days. If we cannot, the courts located in Fulton County, Georgia have exclusive jurisdiction, and each party keeps the right to bring a qualifying claim in small claims court. You may also always bring a complaint to a consumer protection authority in your jurisdiction.
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app before they take effect, and continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you can stop using the Services and cancel any paid plan, and we will make it right on the terms set out in our Terms of Service.

The service agreement for KechX Safe Browsing. Where the Terms of Use set out the rules of the relationship, this document sets out the mechanics of the service itself — what you get on each plan, what we commit to keeping running, how billing works, and what happens to your account and your data when you leave.
These Terms of Service apply when you use KechX Safe Browsing, whether on a free plan or a paid one. They are an addition to our Terms of Use, not a replacement for them: eligibility, acceptable use, ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and dispute resolution all live there and apply here in full.
If anything here appears to contradict the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use govern. This document only adds detail; it does not take away rights given to you there, and it does not extend our liability beyond the limits set there.
Our Privacy Statement, Cookie Policy and Privacy and Civil Liberties commitments also form part of the agreement between us.
KechX Safe Browsing takes something you are unsure about — a link, a QR code, a screenshot, a message — and returns a plain-English assessment of whether it looks fraudulent, along with the reasoning behind that assessment. We call each of these a scan.
The service is offered on two kinds of plan.
| Plan | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Free | A monthly allowance of scans, with no account required to start. Verdicts and explanations are the same ones paid users receive — we do not hold back accuracy behind a paywall. |
| Paid | A higher or unmetered scan allowance, scan history across your devices, and the additional features described on the purchase screen at the time you subscribe. Sold as an in-app subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. |
The current allowances, features and prices for each plan are the ones shown in the app and on the store's purchase screen at the moment you subscribe, and those are the terms you are agreeing to. We may introduce, rename or retire plans; Changes to the service below explains what we do for existing subscribers when that happens.
You can use the free plan without an account. An account is needed for a paid plan, for scan history, and for anything that has to follow you between devices.
A plan covers one person. You may use it on the devices you personally use — a phone and a tablet, say — but accounts are not to be shared between people or passed on. If a plan is sold as a family or household plan, the number of people it covers is stated on that plan.
A paid subscription is held in the Apple or Google account you bought it from, and your KechX account is what carries the plan into the app. Keep the two connected: if you sign in to the app with a different KechX account, or subscribe from a different store account, the plan will not follow you on its own.
Keeping your credentials secure is your responsibility. If you think someone else has reached your account, tell us at security@kechx.com and we will help you close it off.
Allowances exist to keep the service fast and affordable for people using it the way it is meant to be used: checking things they are personally unsure about. Unused scans do not roll over into the next period.
An unmetered plan is still subject to fair use. We may apply rate limits, and we may contact you or restrict the account, if usage looks automated, looks like bulk processing, or looks like an attempt to extract our verdicts at scale — all of which the acceptable use section of the Terms of Use already prohibits. Before restricting a paying account for fair use we will tell you what we are seeing and give you a chance to explain or adjust, unless the activity is causing active harm.
We do not sell access to our verdicts as a bulk feed or an API under these terms. If you need that, write to legal@kechx.com and we will talk about a separate agreement.
We aim to keep KechX Safe Browsing available around the clock, and we design and monitor it with that in mind. That is a target we work to, not a guarantee we are giving you: the service is provided on the “as available” basis set out in the Terms of Use, and no service level credit or refund arises automatically from an outage.
Planned maintenance is scheduled for low-traffic hours wherever we can, and we announce it in the app in advance when we expect it to interrupt scanning. Emergency work — a security fix, most often — may happen without notice, and we will say afterwards what happened.
A scan that fails, or a service that is down, is not a signal that something is safe. When you cannot get a verdict, treat the item as unverified and be cautious with it — the same way you would if you had never asked us.
If a paid feature is unavailable for an extended period through our fault, contact support@kechx.com and we will make it right — in the ordinary case by extending your paid access by the affected period, since the store rather than we took the payment. The Cancelling and refunds section below explains how that works and what we will do to support a refund request you make to the store.
Support for every user, free and paid, is at support@kechx.com. We aim to respond to a first message within two business days, and faster for anything involving account security, billing or a suspected active scam. Support is provided in English.
We can help with the service: accounts, scanning problems, and understanding a verdict. We can also help you work out what happened with a charge, though a refund or a billing correction has to come from the store that took the payment. We cannot recover money you have already lost to a scam, act as your representative with a bank or a platform, or give you legal, financial or insurance advice. If you have lost money, report it to your bank and to your national fraud reporting body first — speed matters more there than anything we can do.
Some features are released as beta, preview or experimental, and are labelled as such where you turn them on. They are optional, they may be less accurate or less stable than the rest of the service, and they may be changed or withdrawn at any time without the notice periods described below.
Using a beta feature never removes an existing feature from your plan, and you can turn one off at any time. Where a beta feature is a paid one, we say so before you are charged for it.
Paid plans are sold only through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not sell subscriptions directly, and we never see or hold your card details.
Your agreement for the service is with KechX Technologies LLC — this document. Your agreement for the payment is with Apple or Google, who are the seller of record and who bill you under their own terms. That split decides where most billing questions have to go, and it is why several answers below end with “in your store account” rather than “with us”.
You cancel in the store you bought the plan from — under Subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, or under Payments and subscriptions in Google Play. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and we cannot cancel one for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not cut your access short. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then move to the free plan.
Because the store took the payment, the store decides the refund, under its own refund policy and time limits. Requests go to Apple or Google, not to us. We have no way to return money we never received.
That is a limit on the mechanism, not on what we think is fair. Where we would otherwise have refunded you — if we retire a paid feature you relied on, change these terms materially to your disadvantage and you leave rather than accept, or the service is substantially unusable through our fault — then at your choice we will either:
Ask us at support@kechx.com and we will not make you argue for it. We do not generally treat a period that simply went unused as one of these cases, though you are welcome to ask.
Where a statutory cooling-off or refund right applies to you, nothing here limits it, and you can exercise it against whichever of us the law makes responsible.
The detail lives in our Privacy Statement, which is the authoritative document. In short, and so that it is stated in the agreement you are signing: we process what you submit in order to give you a verdict, we keep it only for the retention periods set out in that statement, and we use it to improve our detection systems only while you leave improvement use switched on.
Your plan does not change any of this. Paying us more does not buy more privacy, and using the free plan does not buy you less of it.
The service will change — fraud changes, so it has to. We add, adjust and remove features as we go.
Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan does, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app, and you can cancel in your store account and claim the remedy set out under Cancelling and refunds above. Retiring a plan works the same way: we will move you to the closest equivalent and tell you what is different, and if the new plan would cost you more for less, we will cover the difference by extending your access rather than leaving you to absorb it.
Changes to this document follow the process in the Terms of Use: at least 30 days' notice for anything material, and the effective date is shown at the top of this page rather than the change being made quietly.
You can stop using the service and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or end an account on the grounds set out in the Terms of Use — material breach, legal risk, harm to other users, or a legal requirement — and, where circumstances allow, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
However the agreement ends, you can export your scan history before you go, and we will honour an export request made within 30 days of the account closing. After that the data is deleted on the schedule in the Privacy Statement. If we end a paid account for a reason that is not your breach, treat it as one of the cases under Cancelling and refunds: we will back your refund request to the store, or extend equivalent access elsewhere if you would rather have that. Remember to cancel the subscription in your store account too — closing the account with us does not stop the store billing you.
Tell us before anything formal starts. Write to support@kechx.com for a problem with the service, or legal@kechx.com for a dispute, and we will try to sort it out directly — most things are settled that way within 30 days.
A dispute about a charge — a refund refused, a renewal you did not expect, an amount you do not recognise — has to go to Apple or Google, who took the payment and hold the power to reverse it. Tell us as well, and we will help however we can from our side.
If that does not work, the governing law and dispute resolution terms in the Terms of Use apply, as does your right to take a complaint to a consumer protection authority where you live.

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on our websites, what each one is for, and how to control them. We use very few, and none of them are for advertising.
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember something between page loads — that you are signed in, for example, or which preferences you chose. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party; cookies set by another domain are third-party.
Cookies that last only until you close your browser are session cookies. Ones that stay for a defined period are persistent cookies.
Our marketing website is deliberately light. Here is everything it can set:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| kx_session | Keeps you signed in to your account area and protects against request forgery | Strictly necessary | Session |
| kx_prefs | Remembers interface preferences such as reduced motion | Functional | 12 months |
| kx_consent | Records your cookie choices so we do not ask again | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| kx_analytics_id | Aggregated, privacy-preserving measurement of page performance and traffic | Analytics | 13 months |
Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the site cannot function without them. Functional and analytics cookies are set only where you have consented, or where local law permits them on a legitimate-interest basis.
Our pages load the Inter and Instrument Serif typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and your IP address is visible to them in that request. No cookie is set by that request. If you would rather avoid it entirely, blocking fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com leaves the site fully readable in your system fonts.
Alongside cookies we may use local storage to hold interface state on your device (it never leaves your browser unless you sign in), and standard server logs that record IP address, user agent and requested URL for security and reliability purposes. Server logs are kept for 13 months.
You have several ways to control them:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in. Blocking functional or analytics cookies has no effect on anything else you can do on the site.
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, we treat that as an opt-out of non-essential cookies without asking again. Browser Do Not Track headers are not consistently defined across the industry, but because we run no advertising or cross-site tracking there is nothing for a DNT signal to switch off.
KechX Safe Browsing is a native app and does not use browser cookies for its core features. It stores a device-local session token to keep you signed in, and it collects the diagnostic and usage data described in our Privacy Statement. We do not use advertising identifiers such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID, and we do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because we have nothing to track you for.
If we add a cookie we will add it to the table above and update the date at the top of this page. If a new cookie needs your consent, we will ask before setting it.
Fraud policy, privacy law and payment regulation all shape what our products can do for the people who use them. This page sets out the positions we hold, how we engage with policymakers, and the rules we follow when we do.
We are a small company, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. We do not have a Washington office or a large government affairs operation. But the problems we work on — consumer fraud and information asymmetry — are actively legislated, and we would rather participate honestly and in public than not at all.
This page exists so anyone can see where we stand without asking, and so our positions are on the record before they are convenient.
Scam losses in the United States run into the tens of billions of dollars a year, and the burden falls hardest on older adults and recent immigrants. We support:
We support a comprehensive federal privacy law, and we support it even though it would impose obligations on us. Building one product against fifty state regimes wastes engineering time that small companies do not have, and produces worse privacy outcomes than a single clear standard.
What we think such a law needs:
Our products use machine learning to reach conclusions that affect people — a verdict that a business's website looks fraudulent has consequences for that business. We think the obligations should follow the consequence, not the technology label:
Our product reaches users through two mobile app stores. We support interoperability and fair-dealing requirements for dominant platforms, transparent and appealable app review decisions, and the ability for developers to communicate directly with their own customers about pricing.
KechX Technologies LLC does not operate a political action committee and does not make corporate contributions to candidates, parties, or committees. Employees are free to participate in politics on their own time and with their own money; we neither reimburse nor track those choices, and no employee's standing at the company depends on them.
Once a year we publish a short public policy report listing the consultations we responded to, the coalitions we belonged to, any registered lobbying activity, and any change to the positions on this page. If a position here changes, the change will be dated rather than silently substituted.
Our statement on slavery, forced labour and human trafficking — the risks in our own operations and supply chain, what we do about them, and what we have committed to do next.
KechX Technologies LLC has zero tolerance for slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, child labour and human trafficking, in our own operations and anywhere in our supply chain.
We publish this statement voluntarily. As a US company at our current size we are not required to report under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 or the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018, and we fall below the reporting threshold of the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act. We publish anyway, because a company that only discloses when a statute forces it to is disclosing for the wrong reason, and because setting the practice now is easier than retrofitting it later.
KechX Technologies LLC is a consumer software and intelligence company registered in the United States, headquartered in Miami, Florida, with an office in Norfolk, Virginia. We build and operate one mobile product: KechX Safe Browsing. We have no subsidiaries and no manufacturing operations, and we do not produce or trade physical goods at scale.
Because we are a software business, our supply chain is short. It consists mainly of:
| Category | What we buy | Assessed risk |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud and hosting | Compute, storage, content delivery | Low direct / moderate indirect (data centre construction and facilities labour) |
| Software and services | Development tools, payment processing, threat intelligence | Low |
| Professional services | Legal, accounting, design, contract engineering | Low |
| Data annotation and support | Human review of fraud samples, outsourced customer support | Elevated — wage and working-condition risk in outsourced review work |
| Hardware | Laptops, phones and test devices | Elevated — electronics manufacturing and mineral sourcing |
| Office and facilities | Leased office space, cleaning, security | Moderate — subcontracted facilities labour |
Most of our spend goes to large, established technology suppliers in jurisdictions with functioning labour enforcement, which keeps our direct risk low. Our two genuine exposure points are the ones every software company has and few name:
We have not conducted on-site audits of our suppliers' own suppliers, and we do not have the leverage to compel a global cloud or hardware vendor to change its practices. What we can honestly claim is supplier selection based on published standards, contractual requirements, and a real escalation path when something is reported. We would rather state that than describe an assurance programme we do not run.
Everyone who works for KechX Technologies is directly employed or engaged under a written contract, is paid at or above the applicable legal minimum, has the right to work verified through lawful channels, keeps possession of their own identity documents, and pays no fee to be recruited. We do not use unpaid internships in place of paid roles, and we do not use labour intermediaries for our core staff. Our contract terms and working hours comply with US federal and state law in Florida and Virginia.
Employees involved in purchasing, vendor management, or trust and safety receive training on modern slavery indicators and on our escalation process when they join and annually after that. All staff are told, in onboarding, how to raise a concern and that doing so is protected.
Anyone — employee, supplier, platform user or member of the public — can report a concern about forced labour or trafficking connected to our business. Reports can be made anonymously, are reviewed by a senior manager independent of the relevant commercial relationship, and are protected from retaliation. We do not use non-disclosure agreements to prevent anyone from reporting labour abuse to authorities.
In the United States, the National Human Trafficking Hotline can be reached on 1-888-373-7888 or by texting 233733.
For the coming financial year we have committed to:
This statement covers the financial year ending December 2026, describes the steps taken during that period, and is reviewed and approved annually by the founder and Chief Executive Officer of KechX Technologies LLC.

People in the United States reported losing more than $12.5 billion to fraud in 2024 — a 25% jump in a single year. This page breaks that number down for all fifty states and the District of Columbia using the Federal Trade Commission’s own Consumer Sentinel Network data. We reproduce the FTC’s figures without adjustment and link straight to the source, because a scam statistic you cannot check is not worth much.
Pick a measure and both the map and the table follow it. Raw dollar totals track population as much as risk, so the per-capita report rate is usually the fairer comparison between a big state and a small one.

No state matches that search.
All figures: Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Sentinel Network Data Book 2024 (published March 2025). “Total lost” is total reported fraud losses for that state; “reports” counts fraud and other reports, excluding identity theft. Per-capita rates are the FTC’s own, based on 2023 US Census population estimates. The District of Columbia is included in our ranking; the FTC lists it but does not rank it, so our positions run one place behind theirs below DC. Read the data book.
California, Texas and Florida sit at the top of the dollar rankings largely because that is where the people are. Ranking by reports per 100,000 residents tells a different story: Florida, Georgia, Delaware, Nevada and Maryland lead the country, and Delaware — a state of roughly a million people — reports fraud at a higher rate than California.
The median loss is the middle of the pack, not the average. It is usually a few hundred dollars, because most scams are small. The billions come from a comparatively thin tail of very large losses, concentrated in investment fraud and imposter scams.
The number of fraud reports barely moved between 2023 and 2024. What changed is how often a report came with money attached — from 27% of reports to 38%. Scams did not get much more common last year. They got more successful.
We would rather show the limits than pretend they aren't there.
Everything on this page is reproduced from public federal data. If a figure here matters to you, go and check it — these are the primary sources, not summaries of them.
KechX Technologies is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for the Federal Trade Commission. We are simply showing you their published numbers.
KechX was built around a simple idea: everyday people shouldn't have to navigate online scams and digital fraud blindly. But protecting a community takes more than just a mobile app — it requires collaboration between the people building the tools, the agencies fighting fraud on the front lines, and the local institutions holding the community together.
Partnership enquiries partnership@kechx.comThe KIS platform is our dedicated intelligence dashboard built specifically for state agencies, financial institutions, and community organizations. It bridges the gap between everyday consumer threat reporting and institutional defense, giving organizations real-time visibility into localized fraud patterns, brand impersonations, and emerging scam campaigns.
If you want the full product picture first — what the dashboard shows, where the data comes from, and how alerts reach your team — start with the KIS product page.
State consumer protection offices carry an immense burden tracking emerging scam rings, fake websites, and fraudulent text campaigns. We believe in keeping our data pipelines open to these offices. By sharing crowd-sourced, anonymized intelligence gathered from real users spotting threats, we help state teams see what phishing scams are hitting their residents in real time — at no cost to taxpayers or public budgets.
Open data pipelines are not the same thing as open access to user records. Intelligence we share with public offices is aggregated and anonymized, and requests that reach for individual user data are handled under our Privacy and Civil Liberties policy.
Local banks and credit unions are pillars of their communities, and they share the heavy lifting of protecting account holders from wire fraud, imposter scams, and digital theft.
Through community-focused safety initiatives, financial institutions can support digital literacy and scam-prevention programs that directly protect vulnerable populations and low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents. In return, these programs help banks meet their Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) community development goals while giving their account holders practical tools to stay safe online.
If you represent a state agency, a local bank, or a community organization looking to bring structured fraud protection, the KIS platform, and scam awareness to your region, we would love to connect. Email us at partnership@kechx.com.
